Tranquil House Inn announces acceptance into the Select Registry

[January 21, 2022] Manteo, North Carolina – The Tranquil House Inn, a boutique waterfront Outer Banks hotel, is proud to announce its official acceptance into the Select Registry Distinguished Inns of North America, a diverse collection of independent, boutique properties.

“We are delighted to welcome The Tranquil House Inn and its owners, Carolina Retreats Vacation Group and the Harrington family,” said Select Registry CEO Mark Reichle. “The Tranquil House Inn will make a great addition to our diverse collection of independent, quality-assured, boutique properties.”

Built to complement the natural environment in 1988 the Tranquil House Inn reflects the look of a traditional 19th-century seaboard hotel. Here, you can choose from rooms, four-posters, queens, king beds, and even mini-suites with cozy sitting areas and separate bedrooms. Rich in history, this 12-mile island is home to the world’s oldest mystery, The Lost Colony. Steps away from your guest room, one can explore downtown Manteo boosting a 25-acre historical park, boutiques, book stores, and restaurants serving fresh local catches.

Guests of the Tranquil House Inn are encouraged to build new memories on land, air, and sea. Activities range from hiking the largest living sand dune on the East coast to seeing the wild mustangs that roam the Outer Banks and call the beaches their home. After an afternoon of excitement, relax in one of our adirondack chairs to capture a breathtaking sunset with a hand-crafted cocktail featuring local ingredients and showcasing Manteo’s local distillery. Come see firsthand why life on our sandbar moves slower.

“We are truly honored to be a part of the Select Registry Collection. The Tranquil House Inn is in a portfolio with some of the most distinguished independently owned Inns and Bed & Breakfasts in the United States. Recognized for our unique location, personalized service, and guest rooms that are prepared with careful intention. At the Tranquil House, we are not in the business of selling a hotel room on the Outer Banks; our focus is creating memories for families that will last a lifetime. Joining Select Registry shows our commitment to personal hospitality to our guests while allowing them the opportunity to explore other uniquely appointed inns that share the same vision of The Tranquil House” said General Manager, Ashley Vaught.

There are over 260 properties in the Select Registry collection that range from full-service inns and classic bed and breakfasts to stately mansions and manors, modern boutique and small luxury hotels, as well as lodges and luxury cabins. One thing they all have in common is that each property has passed the most comprehensive quality inspection in the industry to be inducted into membership.
